Welcome to the University of New Orleans Faculty Handbook. The University intends to provide an on-line, Internet-based guide to enable the faculty of the University of New Orleans to easily access policies and procedures relating to the wide-range of matters of importance and interest to our faculty. Over the next year, the Office of Academic Affairs, working with ideas and opinions from key faculty leaders, will further develop this electronic document to better meet the needs of the faculty of the University of New Orleans and the University itself. Because the University is subject to various external legal and regulatory forces requiring change, we will revise the information in this Handbook as the University determines that conditions warrant. This electronic format will facilitate change.

The following Table of Contents links the user to the referenced information. Some links are to information in text form. Other links in this Table of contents are to web sites or combinations of text and web links. Some of the links are to web sites other than UNO.

Material in this handbook is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as a formal contractual agreement between the University and its faculty. It in no way alters rights specifically delineated under contracts, policies recommended by the University Senate and agreed to by the administration, and under Federal and state law.

If you have suggestions about this Faculty Handbook, contact Merrill L. Johnson, Associate Provost, by e-mail to associateprovost@uno.edu.
